Topic 1 Your neighbours have a dog that is noisy at night. You can’t sleep. Write a letter to your neighbours. In your letter
• describe the problem with the dog
• explain why it is important for you to sleep
• outline what your neighbours could do about the situation.
Dear Mr&Mrs Smith,
I am writing this letter to apprise you about the problem which I am facing because of your dog. Your dog is very noisy at night and dig all around my garden which is destroying my shrubs.
Your dog wakes me up in mid of the night by his loud barks. Nowadays, I am having very crucial time as I need to take the exam for which I must have a sound sleep so that I am rejuvenated in the morning and can do my best during my exams. Moreover, your dog digs my garden which isdeteriorating it.
I advise you to send your dog to some of your relatives far from this place for time being at least during my exam, which will be over by next week or please muzzle him during the night so that I can sleep calm and composed. To add to this, it would be better if you don’t allow him to wanderaloof which will prevent my garden as well.
I will look forward for a positive response from your side.
Thanks a billion for sharing this letter with us.
I notice that you covered the requirements of the task quite well and logically organized information and ideas in this letter with a wide range of vocabulary and complex structure.
However, I would like to point out some minor errors in your word choice as follows:
– You are writing to your neighbors so avoiding using this sentence
“I will look forward for a positive response from your side.”
==> I fervently look forward to hearing a positive response from you.
The topic is “Your neighbours have a dog that is noisy at night. You can’t sleep.” ==> just focus on this and complain about how noisy the dog is and which consequence it results in. Don’t add up the topic’s requirement ( like dig all around my garden which is destroying my shrubs. or To add to this, it would be better if you don’t allow him to wander aloof which will prevent my garden as wel)l.
