The more society is developed, the more energetic and positive generation is need. However, there is a growing tendency among the youth to take a negative attitude toward life due to several reasons. Personally, I believe that some measures should be taken to prevent this.
To begin with, what triggers teenagers’ pessimism is the pressure from academic, social and commercial fields. From an academic perspective, the adolescent are expected to be more intellectual so parents and schools may put more pressure on them by pushing them too hard to perform well and come up to their expectations. As a result, they might have negative thoughts about education. Another reason for the immature to become negaholics is that societies have high hopes on them in the contribution to workforce, future development. Owing to the harsh competition from many aspects of life, the young would feel powerless and hopeless .One point worth our consideration is the lack of media censorship. To be more specific, plentiful bad news is reported on TVs and social media without making sure the contents’ suitability and reliability, which can alter their opinions about the world in a pessimistic way.
From the causes mentioned above, some practical solutions can be proposed. First of all, families and schools should not be too ambitious but instead encourage them to achieve without any stress. Also, it is the governments’ responsibility to provide them with more opportunities to improve not only their academic performances but also their social skills. Moreover, social media such as Facebook, Twitter should have a filter that can remove the unnecessary and harmful items.
In conclusion, that the teens are pessimistic about life is an undeniable phenomenon. However, families, governments and teenagers themselves ought to make an effort for better outlooks on life.
