Although it is sometimes thought that children ought to teach to compete, other people believe that the focus should be on cooperation. In my opinion, I consider that competition is more essential for children for long run.

On the one hand, some people believe that children who learn to compete against others often do better in school and i agree. In other words, competition between students motivate children to excel their task which consequently produces better academic results. For example, generally children apply themselves and work harder when they are competing directly with their classmates. Furthermore, being driven to achieve best is key for children in other to get succeed in their later life when, as an adult, they  must compete with others in the job Markets.

On the other hands, it is often believe by some that it is essential, if children cooperate with others. People do not like to live, work and socialise apart from others. So learning how to get along with other in team ought to teach to children from their childhood. Without these skills, children lack to communicate with others and how to deal with the confrontation and conflict in a constructive way. Another reason of teamwork skill is that it helps children how to negotiate with others to achieve their work. It is very important skill that benefits children in their later life.

In conclusion, people may vary in their opinion, I believe that children get more benefits in both life and work, if they are encouraged to compete with others.
