In recent years, there has been a lot of heated debate surrounding the issue of whether coeducational or single sex schools are beneficial to the young students. Personally, I wholeheartedly believe that the former type of education is more profitable on the following grounds.
To begin with, one of the most obvious advantages associated with teaching both genders is the development of mutual understanding. Specifically, in coed systems where both sexes understand each other well, this would greatly help individuals to become accustomed to working in mixed environments, which can be an initial preparation for them to cooperate at workplaces. Another contributor is the stronger sense of competition. The boys often want to perform better than the girls and the girls simultaneously desire to prove that they are equally  brilliant. The trial  is usually friendly and gives students more motivation to work toward goals. When it comes to co-education , there is no need for two separate schools and the costs can be combined. Fewer teachers need to be paid to educate children together.
Despite the attractions, this method of educating may exert a significantly negative influence that the single-sex one does not. The first to be considered is the low concentration triggered by the attractions of the opposite sex. Eventually, in the early stages of adulthood, they will be distracted from the curriculum, which may potentially affect their academic performances. Furthermore, the discussion would not end without our attention to the unethical activities. By way of illustration, these may include the flirts, affairs, physical relationships and other serious crimes consisting of sexual harassment and rape which might ruin the lives of the involved students.
In conclusion, given the merits and demerits of this education variation, administrators of institutes should have tight regulations along with a balanced system. Nevertheless, coeducation still proves to be a better way of teaching.
