- Explain why you want to take some time off work.
- Give details of the amount of time you need.
- Suggest how your work could be covered while you are away.

Dear Sird or Madam
I am writing to you regarding to an important event in my life. My wife is about to give birth and I need few days to take in charge of such unexpected matter as soon as possible.
My sister in law was expected to overlook any necessity that may arise but she is having some inconveniences due to her passport and she will not be able to make in time. It is expected to arrive to this country in no more than three days, until then it is recommended that a relative look for her according to the hospital policy. As a consequence, two days are in need to be absent from the company.
I already talked to Tom Ford, the logistic supervisor from the morning shift and he told me that he is willing to help me to cover the days I will be absent.
I understand that I should not be absent and it is against the company policy, however, as a matter of reasonable urge of such event. I hope that you can approve such inconvenience and let me look after my family.
