Nowaday there are many media to get news and often they give different ones. Television and newspaper have different readers, so it is clear that the TV news are not the same on newspaper.
In my opinion the most important cause of this is an economic reason: the newspaper editors have the interest of selling more copy paper, so they have to find news that argues the reader’s interest in the topic. Usually newspaper readers have a better culture, so there are some rubrics of particular arguments as theater, cinema and so on. Instead there is no place for this kind of topics in the daily news, we might find something like that in particular weekly rubric. Furthermore, there is the limit of time: a TV news has a fixed duration that can not be outdated then it is clear thet the judgment of the editor will leave some news outside the stile. Obviusly they woul give more importance to bad news than to good ones.
That does not involve we can not get good news: we only have to look for them from other sources.
So, I think that good news are already reported even if we do not hear them because we are too lazy to read a newspaper, giving more importance to television.
In conclusion, editors decide which news deserve to TV and which to papers, basing their decision on economic and time consideration. Watching TV news and reading newspaper is the best way for us to get a more accurated view on what happen in the world.
