Nowadays, it is a common opinion that children must be taught history of local area where they grow and live rather than world history. While my belief is the young who learn both of them would be more all-around, but if it is needed to compare, naturally delving into regional history would be relevant.
First of all, one of the main reason why children have to prioritize local history rather than history of the world is that knowledge of own history is an important feature that shapes people’s characteristics, especially homeland love. For instance, I am one of those who suppose that without being aware of outstanding figures of homeland history it is impossible to feel special admiration where one was born.
The second reason why I agree with the provided statement is that representing ability one’s native land out of the country , which does not seem real without historical knowledge of motherland. For example, overseas students who study and live far from birthplace are important representatives that are obliged to introduce their local history as thorough as possible to attract people to homeland.
On the other hand, there are some groups of people who believe the importance of knowledge of local history and world are equal. It is supported by citing awareness of different cultures which enable people to stretch their frames to the world. Cognizance of the world empower people to broaden their horizons.
In conclusion, at the present time without awareness of local history it seems absurd to become a mature individual in society. So I think it is much more important to learn local history rather than world.
