Children who start reading earlier in life,  perform better later on in their school studies.
How important  are early reading skills in a child’s  academic performance?
What other preschool factors influence a child’s later academic achievements?

Teaching reading to children before school is followed by many families nowadays, in fact, they even began to enroll their children to preschools to be familiar with basic skills that are really important for their education, such as reading, maths or foreing language.

Reading is by far most important skill among the others, as the first aim in any education system is to learn and since the reading is the most traditional method to have the kwowledge among other methods( listening or watching). Firstly, being taught reading before starting school, would provide self-confidence which is believed to be one of the greatest factor among the effects which may contribute to a pupil’s education life or may impinge negatively. Secondly, during the first terms of school, having more knowledge of reading among one’s peers, would propel one on writing as well, since the first necessary condition for writing is to have been learnt to read. Lastly and consequently, having the reading skill at an early age, would accrue children’s wisdom, as they have already grasped two main basic skills, the reading and as a result, writing.

As for the other preschool skills which children should got involved, I believe, are maths and a foreing language. İt is known that having a good mathematical knowledge provides students to analyze the situations better, when they encounter with a problem. İn addition to that, in my opinion, mathematical knowledge could also strengthen the cognition abilities of children  in each field, such as physics, chemistry. On the other hand, learning a foreing language at early ages is believed to be easier and more permanent. From my point of view, learning a foreing language in preschool period as important as studying on maths or other fields, as being taught an another language brings children a new culture, which really may present them a great range of knowledge in different issues which they can utilize.

İn conclusion, I believe, having the chance of learning reading in preschool period is something that can bring enormous benefits, having said that, I also believe, maths and a foreing language is important after reading.
