It is true that people have wasted a large amount of food on a daily basis. There are several reasons of this trend, and feasible solutions should be adopted to mitigate the problem.

There are a variety of reasons why people tend to waste millions of tons of food all over the world. The first reason is that the food and agricultural industry has been developing fast thanks to increased productivity, technology and other factors. This would make the prices of goods reduce significantly and allow people to afford various products. For example, vegetables, beans, meat and fish are now sold at an affordable price for the majority of the population and even the impoverished with a tiny budget now could live without concern about hunger. As a result, many peopel  [L1] people are willing to throw away a massive amount of food on a regular basis worldwide when the food is too cheap to mind. Another reason is that inappropriate ordering and inaccurate projections of demand for food products in the distribution stage, for example, . Too much food at the market is not consumed in time or sold before the expiry date . Consequently, this results in an increase in food waste.

Fortunatelyt, feasible measures should be taken to reduce food waste. The first solution would be that the government should use the media to raise public awareness with the aim of changing public attitudes toward food consumption. For instance, the detrimental effects of food waste on the environment should be more widely conveyed via the official media. As a consequence, people may feel an urge to avoide  throwing food waste into the surroundings in order to maintain the natural landscape and this could lead to a reduction in environment-related problems. Another measure is to introducing new taxation schemes on the food and agricultural industry, and using this tax revenue to invest in waste treatment systems. This would not only deter people from wasting any food but also contribute to a reduction in environmental pollution.

In conclusion, the fact that millions of tons of food are wasted all over the world is considered as a consequence of several factors, and various maesures measures can be adopted to solve this problem.
