In today’s food industry the use of chemicals have been increased considerably, in the form of additives or preservatives. It is definitely not a good practice though many think it is.In my opinion this trend has detrimental effects on peoples’ health.
On the one hand, many food items in market available which has moderate to high levels of various chemicals to enhance its taste and make them more eye-catching. Apart from these aspects, for preservation of food,merely to improve the life and to retain freshness of it, preservatives are added along with the other ingredients .These chemicals are generally a form of antioxidants which prevent food from getting spoil early. By these practices the shelf life of food  has been increased and thereby reducing wastage of food.
On the other hand, the chemicals are mainly also some colors which can induce carcinogens in the body which lead to a cancer. Many food dealers claim to have the added minerals and vitamins in their production items, but very less are able to produce actual certificates of standard for these products.to illustrate the case, the food items are wrapped generally in aluminum foil which has proven to be a cause for the alzaimers and some skin diseases.
To sum up, I am convinced that, usage of chemical agents in food preservation and improvement are leading to the awful consequences.
