In today’s competitive world where struggle for every individual’s mind is taking place, juvenile crime is on the increase. Young people are getting involved in various illegal activities and anti-social behavior from the very young ages. However, I totally disagree that young criminals should be jailed for what they have done; instead rather mild forms of punishment, such as community service could be applied. This is because young people will be forced to correct their behavior, on the one hand, and on the other, they are not solely responsible for the crime.

First and foremost, applied such punishments as cleaning streets or parks, they could serve as an unforgettable lesson for young delinquents. For instance, there are a great many young adults and teenagers who paint various graffiti on the walls of communal buildings or vandalize in the places of cultural and historical importance. What they need to do to understand the consequences of their loutish behaviour is clean afterwards. Hard manual work and shame felt while doing these all in the face of friends and teachers will make these perpetrators change their attitude to life.

Furthermore, we should admit that not only these young delinquents are solely responsible for their actions, but also the society should admit the mistakes made. To be more precise, parents, society and schools educate children until they can make independent decisions. If children’s behavior is out of hands and they commit crimes or behave loutishly, they are not to be imprisoned for this mistake. They are also a part of this society and have the same rights as other individuals, simply imprisoning them by bereaving their bright future is not going to solve the problem. Instead, organizations and local people should educate them by applying the abovementioned form of punishment.

To conclude, juvenile delinquency is still remaining to be a major social problem. However, the idea of putting young criminals into prison cannot be supported. The society would rather apply community service to these individuals in order to correct their conduct. It is suggested that such actions combined with peer pressure will prevent future crimes and delinquency among teenagers.

First and foremost, applied such punishments as cleaning streets or parks, they (who are they?) could serve as an unforgettable lesson for young delinquents.
(this argument is not convincing, in my opinion. ) They are also a part of this society and have the same rights as other individuals, simply imprisoning them by bereaving their bright future (word choice) is not going to solve the problem.
